About Elijah
(Behind The Composer's Compass)
Hi my name is Elijah Siegler, I'm an artist, film composer, & music producer who loves the experience of creating things. Ever since I was young I knew I had a particular curiosity in learning. Not specifically the topics I was required to study in school, but in the art of music and the creative process. This passion of curiosity has manifested itself into what I call "The Composer's Compass." A useful referential tool to help navigate learning music makers in their creative journey.
Throughout my evolution of composing & producing music void of formal education, I had to find my own alternative ways to supplement some of these gaps in knowledge. Aside from private piano teachers in my younger years guiding me through the foundations of theory & sight reading, I had no professors or peers to show me the ways of composition or music production, let alone how to score a film or find the tools to do so. for years I have had to scrounge around the internet collecting useful tools and bits of wisdom to help me along my journey. Making music is hard. It's even harder when you don't know where to look in order to start composing or continue past a road block. While this compass will not guarantee you becoming a better composer (that responsibility is on you) it will certainly help navigate you on your way to a more creatively fulfilling destination.
